Established in 2006, the Trinidad and Tobago Professionals Network in the UK is dedicated to develop partnerships that result in the creation intellectual and economic wealth in the Trinidadian and Tobagonian community. In partnership with the country's top organisations, the network has inroads into a wide range of industries as well as the public and private sector. Yet all of TTPNUK's partners have one thing in common: they are all committed to the organisation's goals and values.
We aim to achieve this goal through the creation of a skills database and forum registering nationals' areas of expertise and interest. The database would be accessible to all associated Public and Private Sector in Trinidad and Tobago who are capable of identifying their respective needs and can use this resource to inform them of the key professionals available. This will greatly support key initiatives outlined in the Trinidad and Tobago Government's strategy towards achieving 'developed' country status and also is a very cost effective way to allow investment in our peoples. Investment opportunities and Partnerships will also be encouraged between TTPNUK and organisations in Trinidad and Tobago.
Trinidad and Tobago Professionals Network in the UK will facilitate making known the expectations of the professionals to the Public and Private Sector for contract, permanent or advisory opportunities. Through this network, we hope to ascertain the systems and incentives that would be necessary for the Public and Private sector organisations to create an attractive package that would persuade T&T nationals to return home; whilst curtailing the flow of our highly skilled nationals out of the country to foreign shores. For example here in the UK the government has numerous Key Worker Programmes that can cater for the specific housing needs of nationals in shortage professions such as teachers, nurses, doctors, fire, police personnel to acquire priority low cost housing composite to their needs.
We intend under the patronage of the London High Commission, in maximising the use of this new website bringing together our fellow nationals to establish new and exciting opportunities in Trinidad and Tobago. The network will enable foreign based nationals residing in the UK to contribute towards the development processes taking place in Trinidad and Tobago. We are under the distinguished patronage of Her Excellency, Mrs Glenda Morean Phillip, High Commissioner for the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, London.
The organisation will gain its strength from a strong belief in community and a commitment to its country through economic, social and educational development initiatives which support the global Trinidad and Tobago community.
